FC Badalona Women have had an excellent start to the year, not only remaining undefeated but also collecting 7 out of 9 possible points. Returning after a break in the competition is always uncertain in terms of performance, but this time Ona came back strongly, as shown by the 0-0 draw at Lezama and the home win against Deportivo Abanca (1-0) and away win against Madrid CFF (0-1).

Beyond the value of the points earned, which place the team comfortably in the middle of the table, the defensive performances were particularly noteworthy. Goalkeepers María Valenzuela, with two clean sheets in the league and one in the Copa de la Reina, and Antonia Canales, who kept a clean sheet in Fuenlabrada, demonstrated that the position is in excellent hands.

The team’s first win of the year came at home against Deportivo Abanca (1-0). An early goal from Irina Uribe was enough to overcome a persistent Deportivo side that pushed for an equalizer until the final whistle. The local striker has been impressively stepping up to cover for the injured Lice Chamorro.
